Felix Jimenez, a 38-year-old Dominican Republic citizen, pleaded guilty to cocaine trafficking in New Haven federal court. On April 9, 2026, Jimenez drove to a meeting location in Waterbury, where he provided approximately one kilogram of cocaine to an undercover officer. The transaction was coordinated by the DEA New Haven District Office Task Force. After the deal, Jimenez fled the scene, crashing his car into law enforcement vehicles before hiding in a nearby autobody shop.
Jimenez was found and taken into custody. While incarcerated, he was overheard discussing firearms with his girlfriend, leading to a court-authorized search of their Ansonia residence. The search turned up two handguns. Jimenez has been detained since his arrest and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 40 years for possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
Jimenez was previously deported to the Dominican Republic in 2019 after being convicted of a prior federal offense. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Lem and investigated by the DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, and other agencies.
Jimenez is scheduled to be sentenced on October 23. The DEA New Haven District Office Task Force includes members from various federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, working together to combat drug trafficking in Connecticut.
