Oronde Jefferson, a 42-year-old Bridgeport resident, was caught selling fentanyl and crack cocaine in the city, along with a loaded Glock 9mm handgun. The bust went down in November 2024, when investigators from the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force and Bridgeport Police Department observed Jefferson and his associate, Moities Brown, engaging in suspected drug sales near Brown’s residence on Maple Street. Jefferson was found with 32 individual glassine folds of fentanyl and 71 capsules of crack cocaine, as well as the loaded handgun.
Jefferson’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the FBI, Bridgeport Police Department, and Stratford Police Department. He was initially arrested on state charges, but was later arrested on federal charges in May 2025. Jefferson pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime in March 2026.
Jefferson’s sentencing was handed down by U.S. District Judge Vernon D. Oliver in Hartford, who gave him 60 months of imprisonment and three years of supervised release. Jefferson’s criminal history includes convictions for robbery, firearms, burglary, and larceny offenses. He is required to report to prison on August 25.
Moities Brown, Jefferson’s associate, also pleaded guilty to federal charges related to the case. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon. Brown is scheduled to be sentenced on August 5.
