Gavin Onuffer, Receipt of Child Pornography, Kansas 2026

⏱ 2 min read

A Haysville, Kansas couple, Gavin and Addilynn Onuffer, have admitted to crimes related to child sexual abuse material. The couple’s troubles began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip about child pornography linked to their home. Investigators obtained a search warrant for Gavin’s cell phone and found files containing images of prepubescent minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Addilynn, 22, sent these images to her husband, Gavin, 27.

Addilynn pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography and was sentenced to 160 months in prison. Gavin pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography and is scheduled to be sentenced on August 3, 2026. The case was investigated by the Kansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Wichita Police Department.

The couple’s actions are a disturbing example of the growing problem of child sexual exploitation. U.S. Attorney Ryan A. Kriegshauser emphasized the importance of protecting the most vulnerable members of society, saying there is no excuse for this behavior. The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

This initiative aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims. The project marshals federal, state, and local resources to combat this growing epidemic. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, visit the Department of Justice website.
