In a shocking case of exploitation, Andres Serrano Portillo, a 25-year-old member of the Forum Park Crips, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for sex trafficking a 16-year-old minor in Houston, Texas. The crimes occurred in October 2019, when Portillo lured the victim on social media and forced her into commercial sex acts in cars and motels around the Bissonnet area. The victim was held at a residence, where she was physically and sexually assaulted, before managing to escape and contact her mother.
Portillo pleaded guilty on July 11, 2022, and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge George C. Hanks Jr. The court heard evidence of Portillo’s exploitation of the minor victim and noted that he only appeared remorseful because he had been caught. In addition to his prison term, Portillo will serve 10 years on supervised release and must comply with restrictions on his access to children and the internet.
The case is part of a larger sex trafficking conspiracy involving several co-conspirators, including Michael Anthony Gonzalez, Jerreck Michael Hilliard, Damarquis McGee, Javon Yaw Opoku, and Clarence Christopher Chambers, all of whom have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from 240 to 420 months.
Portillo’s sentence is a significant blow to the Crips and a victory for law enforcement in the fight against sex trafficking. The case highlights the importance of combating exploitation and protecting vulnerable victims, particularly in areas like the Bissonnet area, known for its high incidence of commercial sex crimes.
