A sex trafficking conspiracy operated out of the Paris Adult Bookstore on Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas has been shut down by federal, state, and local law enforcement. Eight individuals, including Aaron Tyrone Betford and Montre Lamont Mason, were charged on July 22 for their alleged roles in the conspiracy, which exploited women and minors for financial gain through force, fraud, and coercion. The indictment was announced by United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould. The arrests were made on July 24, with six of the eight defendants currently in federal custody.
The defendants face charges including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, sex trafficking through force, fraud, and coercion, and conspiracy to launder monetary instruments. Law enforcement also recovered 21 firearms from the defendants throughout the investigation. According to U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould, the defendants preyed on their victims, using threats of violence, fraud, and coercion to exploit them for financial gain.
