Lehigh Acres Woman Convicted of Drug Conspiracy

Fort Myers, Florida – United States Attorney A. Lee Bentley, III announces that a federal jury has found Deena Williams (40, Lehigh Acres) guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methylone.

According to evidence presented at trial, on April 21, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials at an international mail facility in New York encountered an International Express Mail Service parcel from the People’s Republic of China. Williams faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 4, 2015.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jeffrey F. Michelland.
