St. Charles County Man Admits to Child Pornography Charges
A disturbing case of child exploitation has come to light in St. Charles County, Missouri. Dennis J. Naumann, a 55-year-old man, has pleaded guilty to one count of attempted production of child pornography and one count of receiving child pornography.
According to the investigation, Naumann hid a video camera in a bathroom, capturing images and videos of underage girls. He then shared these explicit materials with two others, as stated in his plea agreement.
Naumann’s guilty plea has severe consequences. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison for the attempted production charge and at least five years in prison for the receipt charge. The total prison time for both charges is 20 years.
The case was investigated by the St. Charles County Cybercrime Task Force, the St. Charles County Police Department, and the FBI. Assistant United States Attorney Jillian Anderson is prosecuting the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Department of Justice Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
Dennis J. Naumann, 55, pleaded guilty in front of U.S. District Court Judge Matthew T. Schelp. The exact date of the guilty plea is not specified in the press release. The case is currently awaiting sentencing.
