Dundalk Cocaine Dealer Gets 10 Years

A 10-year prison sentence was handed down to Jasper McWilliams, 48, of Dundalk, Maryland, for his role in a cocaine and gun trafficking operation.

McWilliams, who was sentenced by U.S. District Judge George L. Russell, III, was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine, as well as possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The conviction stems from a March 19, 2015 search warrant executed by law enforcement at McWilliams’ residence. During the search, officers recovered 533.37 grams of powder cocaine and 69.78 grams of crack cocaine, packaged in plastic bags.

In addition to the large quantity of cocaine, the officers also found a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun, $15,160 in drug proceeds, and various pieces of drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale, a metal can with a false bottom, a metal grinder, and an at-home marijuana drug test kit.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein praised the Baltimore County Police Department for its work in the investigation, saying, ‘Their efforts were instrumental in bringing this case to a successful conclusion.’

Assistant U.S. Attorney Peter J. Martinez handled the prosecution of the case, which has been deemed a significant blow to the local cocaine trafficking scene.

McWilliams will serve 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, as part of his sentence.
