Centralia Woman Sentenced in Methamphetamine Conspiracy Case
A Centralia woman has been sentenced to federal prison for her role in a methamphetamine conspiracy that operated in Clinton and Marion counties.
Dusty Jo Gambill, 40, of Centralia, Illinois, was sentenced on July 31, 2015, for her role in a Conspiracy to Manufacture and Distribute Methamphetamine, which operated from February 28, 2014, through October 1, 2014.
Gambill was also found guilty of Possession of a Listed Chemical (Pseudoephedrine) Knowing It Would Be Used to Manufacture Methamphetamine.
The charges were brought by a Federal Grand Jury in December 2014. Gambill has been in custody since July 21, 2015, when her bond was revoked.
According to the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, Gambill was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison, 3 years of supervised release, a $400 fine, and a $200 special assessment.
Supervised release follows the service of imprisonment, as there is no parole in the federal system.
Gambill is one of several individuals charged in the conspiracy, which included Michael Alan Flanagan, James Perry Horton, David Leroy Altom, Jayme Lee Barnes, and Kathy Sue Tomes.
Flanagan, Horton, Altom, and Tomes have all pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing, while Barnes was sentenced to 5 years in prison, 4 years of supervised release, a $200 fine, and a $200 special assessment.
The investigation that led to the charges against Gambill and the others was conducted by the FBI, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, the Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Response Team, and the Centralia Police Department.
The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Kit Morrissey.
