TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Erik Gammons, a 42-year-old resident of Marianna, has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a substantial quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine. The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
According to court documents, on May 5, 2025, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Marianna, Florida. Gammons was an occupant of the vehicle. During the stop, law enforcement located approximately 1,798 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 568 grams of cocaine in the vehicle, as well as other items indicative of Gammons’ intent to distribute the narcotics.
“Methamphetamine addiction destroys lives and ravages communities throughout North Florida, but this trafficker’s days of distributing this poison are over,” said U.S. Attorney Heekin. “My office is committed to fulfilling the promise of President Donald J. Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi to Take Back America by aggressively pursuing and prosecuting drug traffickers, and I deeply appreciate the outstanding work of our federal and state law enforcement partners to keep deadly drugs off our streets.”
The case involved a joint investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Jessica S. Etherton and Eric W. Welch.
Gammons faces up to life imprisonment and a lifetime term of supervision upon release. Sentencing is scheduled for October 23, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the United States Courthouse in Tallahassee before United States District Judge Mark Walker.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of law enforcement to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
