MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – A shocking revelation in the world of justice as William Clayton Brown, 42, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, was sentenced to a mind-numbing 300 months behind bars for his involvement in a second-degree murder within Indian Country. This comes on top of a life sentence he is already serving for a first-degree murder conviction.
The sentence handed down by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma was the culmination of a thorough investigation led by the Eufaula Police Department, the District 25 Violent Crime Task Force, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Brown’s heinous act on September 15, 2017, left one man dead after a brutal stabbing to the head and back with a knife.
Despite attempting to conceal the body in a nearby field, justice would not be evaded for long. Brown pleaded guilty to the charge on July 11, 2025. The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation, located in McIntosh County, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, bore witness to this crime.
The hearing took place in Muskogee, with the Honorable David C. Joseph presiding over the court. Brown will be transported by the U.S. Marshals Service to a designated Bureau of Prisons facility where he will serve his sentence without the possibility of parole.
Assistant U.S. Attorney T. Cameron McEwen represented the United States in this case, ensuring that justice was served for the victim and the community. Brown’s fate serves as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by those who commit such acts of violence within Indian Country.
