Ronald Lidderdale, Threats to Public Officials, Ohio 2024

⏱ 2 min read

A New Albany man went on a 10-month threat-a-thon targeting more than 30 public officials in Ohio and beyond, sending 92 menacing messages via mail and internet.

The communications, which began in July 2024 and ended in May 2025, included death threats to the governor, attorney general, secretary of state, state lawmakers, and members of Congress.

Some letters were even addressed to public officials’ spouses, with return addresses listing staffers, law firms, and other community members to disguise the sender’s identity.

Lidderdale’s arsenal included two 9mm pistols, ammunition, a lock-picking kit, and tactical gear, which were seized by law enforcement from his residence.
