Boston – In a stunning turn of events at MCI-Cedar Junction, Margaret Guillemette, 59, from Fall River, was handed down a sentence today by U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani for her role in drug smuggling into the facility. Guillemette received time served (five days), two years of supervised release, and was ordered to complete 200 hours of community service.
The saga began when Guillemette pleaded guilty in March 2019 to one count of conspiracy to distribute Suboxone and Alprazolam. She was charged alongside Chad Connors, 42, and William Guillemette, 39, both inmates at MCI-CJ in South Walpole, and Lisa Guillemette, 42, also from Fall River.
It is alleged that Connors had a romantic relationship with Christine Ramos, a nurse assigned to the DDU. At Connors’ request, Ramos agreed to bring contraband into MCI-CJ, including controlled substances. Margaret Guillemette and her daughter-in-law, Lisa Guillemette, were directed by William Guillemette to send Suboxone and Alprazolam to P.O. Boxes opened in Ramos’s name. The drugs were then smuggled into the DDU by Ramos and distributed by Connors and William Guillemette.
William Guillemette and Lisa Guillemette have already pleaded guilty, awaiting sentencing. Ramos received two years of probation after her own plea in April 2019. Connors has pleaded not guilty, with his case pending.
The charges against Guillemette carry a maximum sentence of ten years in prison, three years of supervised release, a $500,000 fine, and forfeiture. Sentences are imposed by the federal district court judge based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.

Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Field Division; Commissioner Carol Mici of the Massachusetts Department of Correction; and Joseph W. Cronin, Inspector in Charge of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service’s Boston Division.
