A 37-year-old Augusta man will spend the next four years in federal prison for possessing ammunition as a convicted felon.
Terrell Polen, 37, was busted by Richmond County sheriff’s deputies in November 2024 after they responded to a report of a man wielding a rifle, investigators said.
Polen, who’d previously been convicted of state felony charges, wasn’t supposed to have any guns or ammo in his possession, but he did – and now he’s facing the music.
U.S. District Court Judge Dudley H. Bowen Jr. handed down the sentence after Polen pleaded guilty to Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, a charge that’s taken on a zero-tolerance vibe in the Southern District of Georgia.
