Terrill Hill, Possession of a Machinegun, Ohio 2026

⏱ 2 min read

Terrill Hill, a 21-year-old repeat offender from Cincinnati, Ohio, pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. In November and December 2025, Hill posted photos on Instagram showing him holding a unique Glock with an extended magazine, a switch, and a flashlight/laser pointer. The switch, a metal device that converts semi-automatic firearms into machineguns, made the firearm particularly dangerous. Hill was previously convicted of a local firearms felony in 2025 and was on community control when the federal charges were filed in February 2026.

Agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) executed a search warrant at a residence used by Hill and recovered the same firearm he had posted on social media. The guilty plea was entered before Judge Jeffery P. Hopkins, with Assistant United States Attorney Frederic C. Shadley representing the United States.

Possessing a firearm as a convicted felon is a federal crime punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Hill’s sentencing will be determined by the Court based on advisory sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors at a future hearing.
