Flick Jailed 15 Years for Distributing Child Porn
A Cincinnati man, Joshua Robert Flick, 35, will be spending the next 15 years behind bars for distributing child pornography.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge David Bunning handed down the sentence to Flick, who was caught communicating with a covert law enforcement employee via the Kik application on his iPhone.
According to his plea agreement, on December 1, 2022, Flick messaged the undercover employee that he was sexually interested in minors. He followed this up with sending multiple visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on December 9, 2022 and December 11, 2022.
When Flick was arrested on an outstanding warrant on January 11, 2023, his phone was searched and over 70 images and approximately 90 videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct were recovered.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Spievack is prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Flick must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence, which means he will be incarcerated for 12.75 years. Upon his release, he will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for an additional 15 years.
The harsh sentence is a reminder that those who engage in the distribution of child pornography will face severe consequences. As Carlton S. Shier, IV, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and Michael E. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge, FBI, Louisville Field Office, jointly stated, justice has been served in this case.
