Former Pensacola Firefighter Garey A. Buscaino, 48, Finds Himself in Legal Crosshairs for Child Pornography
In a grim twist of fate, Garey A. Buscaino, once a respected firefighter in Pensacola, Florida, now faces federal charges related to the production and possession of child pornography over a decade.
According to the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, John P. Heekin, Buscaino has been indicted for producing child porn involving four different minor females between 2015 and 2025. The charges also include possession of child pornography featuring minors under the age of 12.
The arraignment is set for July 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., before United States Magistrate Judge Zachary C. Bolitho. If convicted, Buscaino could face up to 30 years’ imprisonment per minor victim for the production charge and an additional 20 years for the possession charge.
The investigation into Buscaino’s crimes was a collaborative effort between the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, with Assistant United States Attorney David L. Goldberg leading the prosecution.
While an indictment is not evidence of guilt, it is a stark reminder that even those in positions of trust can fall from grace. This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse, highlighting the ongoing efforts to protect our youth.
