Fort Wayne Man Sentenced for Marijuana Manufacturing

A Fort Wayne man was sentenced to 50 months in prison for manufacturing and distributing marijuana, the Grimy Times has learned.

Travis Black, 30, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by District Judge Theresa Springmann to 50 months imprisonment and 2 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offense of maintaining a residence for the purpose of manufacturing and distributing marijuana.

The investigation into Black’s activities was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Wayne Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.

Black’s sentence is the result of a guilty plea entered in court. If convicted in court, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

The Grimy Times has learned that Black’s sentence is the latest in a string of marijuana-related convictions in the Fort Wayne area.

In related news, a Decatur man was recently sentenced to prison for bank fraud. Joseph Klinker, 38, of Decatur, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to the felony offense of bank fraud.

Klinker’s case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.
