Treivorn McLeod, a 25-year-old from Mary Esther, Florida, has pleaded guilty to running a massive scam that defrauded victims of approximately $530,000. Between June 1, 2022, and January 29, 2024, McLeod and his co-conspirators targeted unsuspecting individuals, falsely claiming they had won millions in the Publisher’s Clearing House lottery and the American Cash Rewards lottery. The victims were told they had to pay fees and costs in advance to collect their winnings, but none received any money or prizes as promised.
The scam, which was dismantled thanks to a joint investigation by multiple federal agencies, including the Air Force Department of Special Investigations, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Postal Inspection Service, has left many victims financially devastated. McLeod’s guilty plea marks a significant victory for law enforcement and a warning to other would-be scammers.
U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin praised the investigative work and aggressive prosecution, stating that fraudsters will stop at nothing to steal from innocent victims. McLeod now faces up to 80 years in prison for his crimes, which include conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Sentencing is scheduled for August 24, 2026, in Pensacola, Florida, before United States District Judge M. Casey Rodgers. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jeffrey M. Tharp.
