Trinity Joy Johnson, a 26-year-old woman from Alachua, Florida, has been indicted on 23 counts of production, distribution, and possession of child pornography. The charges were announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. Johnson’s alleged crimes took place in Alachua, and she appeared in federal court for her arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Midori Lowry in Gainesville, Florida.

The investigation was a joint effort by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), and Homeland Security Investigations. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Adam Hapner. Johnson faces severe penalties, including 15 to 30 years’ imprisonment for the production of child pornography offenses, 5 to 20 years’ imprisonment for the distribution of child pornography offenses, and up to 20 years’ imprisonment for possession of child pornography.

A jury trial is scheduled for June 17, 2026, at 8:30 am before Chief District Court Judge Allen C. Winsor. This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project was launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice and aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims.

The charges against Johnson are a reminder of the importance of Project Safe Childhood and the need for continued efforts to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The case will proceed to trial, where the government will bear the burden of proving Johnson’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
