A search of a Fresno home turned up over a pound and a half of cocaine, a loaded handgun, and evidence of a lucrative narcotics trade, landing the resident, Maurice Hackett, in federal court on cocaine and firearms charges.
According to investigators, Hackett, 49, had been boasting on social media about robbing others for drugs and showing off his guns and narcotics hauls.
On March 25, 2026, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant on Hackett’s residence, where they found the cocaine, a loaded handgun with a high-capacity magazine, and a scale and pay/owe sheets used to track who owed money.
Hackett’s prior felony convictions in Fresno County and the U.S. District Court in Fresno make him a prohibited person from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Veneman-Hughes is prosecuting the case, which was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Fresno Police Department.
