Gallatin, TN – Andrew John Paolini, 64, a resident of Gallatin, Tennessee, has been handed down a sentence of over 12 years in federal prison by the Honorable Katherine A. Crytzer for his chilling attempt to entice a minor online.
In a hearing held on August 14, 2025, Paolini was sentenced to 151 months imprisonment followed by lifetime supervised release and mandatory registration as a sex offender with state registries. The sentence came after Paolini’s guilty plea in relation to Attempted Enticement of a Minor to Engage in Statutory Rape.
According to court documents, the investigation began in October 2024 when FBI agents launched an undercover operation targeting online chat areas notorious for child sexual abuse material. Their inquiries led them to identify Paolini as someone seeking to engage in illegal activities with what he believed was a 13-year-old girl.
The arrest of Paolini followed his planned meeting with the minor, which was thwarted by federal agents. U.S. Attorney Francis M. Hamilton III and Special Agent Joseph E. Carrico of the FBI made the announcement of the sentence.
This conviction is the outcome of a thorough investigation led by the FBI, specifically by Special Agent Mike Carter. Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Kolman represented the United States in the case.
The charges against Paolini were part of Project Safe Childhood (PSC), an initiative founded by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. PSC aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who sexually exploit children and rescue victims. For further information on internet safety education, visit www.justice.gov/psc.
