Raughn Williams, Federal Firearm Trafficking, Massachusetts 2025

⏱ 2 min read

In a shocking crackdown, eight gang members and associates of the Boston-based Columbia Point Dawgs and Johnston Road gangs were charged with federal drug trafficking and firearm crimes. The defendants, including Raughn Williams, Champion Brown, William Brown, and Jillian Karabello, allegedly conspired to sell firearms without a license and sold 18 guns to an undercover agent between January 2025 and April 21, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts.

The investigation revealed that the defendants sold high-powered rifles, tactical rifles with extended clips, and even a machinegun conversion device. A search warrant executed at Champion Brown’s apartment turned up 21 switches, five firearms, and two AR-style pistols with obliterated serial numbers. The switches, also known as machinegun conversion devices, can turn a semi-automatic pistol into a fully automatic machinegun.

The defendants’ alleged crimes are even more disturbing given that one of them, Raughn Williams, is a felon and was found in possession of a firearm. Another defendant is currently on pre-trial release for a pending state murder case. The charges against the eight defendants are a result of a joint investigation by federal and local law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and ATF.

The case highlights the ongoing struggle to combat gang violence and firearm crimes in Boston and surrounding areas. The charges against the defendants are a significant step towards holding accountable those who engage in violent and illegal activities. As the investigation continues, it is likely that more details will emerge about the scope and nature of the defendants’ alleged crimes.
