Terror gripped a Long Island neighborhood when two gang members, Jaquell Blackwell and Abdoul Azika, ambushed a driver with a knife and a gun, stealing his car at knifepoint. The brazen armed carjacking happened in Garden City on March 19, 2023.
The pair, part of the Bronx-based Blood Hounds Brims gang, targeted unsuspecting New Yorkers in a string of armed carjackings across the city and on Long Island.
For over a year, Blackwell and Azika terrorized their victims, leaving a trail of fear and destruction in their wake.
Now, they’ll spend years behind bars for their crimes. Blackwell was sentenced to 63 months’ imprisonment, while Azika received 87 months.
