⏱ 3 min read

Edward Allen, aka E-Money, and Deandre Rodgers, aka Dre, two high-ranking members of the Unknown Vice Lords gang, carried out a calculated, execution-style murder of a fellow gang member in Memphis, Tennessee. The killing was in retaliation for the murder of the gang’s Supreme Elite Chief, the leader of the Unknown Vice Lords in Tennessee. The crime occurred in a city already plagued by gang violence, with the Unknown Vice Lords controlling territory throughout Memphis, as well as parts of Arkansas and Mississippi. The motive behind the killing was to incite fear and silence in fellow gang members and the community. On February 13, a federal jury convicted the two gang members, leading to their sentencing.

The Unknown Vice Lords, also known as The Ghost Mob, is a notorious criminal enterprise responsible for numerous crimes, including murders, burglaries, assaults, human trafficking, and drug trafficking. As high-ranking members, Allen and Rodgers played a significant role in the gang’s operations, which spanned across multiple states. Their conviction and sentencing mark a significant blow to the gang’s leadership and operations in Memphis.

Allen, 42, of Los Angeles, and Rodgers, 29, of Memphis, were each sentenced to 50 years in prison for their roles in the gang-related murder. The sentencing is a clear message from the Department of Justice that organized gang violence and retaliatory murder will be vigorously pursued and prosecuted. The community of Memphis can now breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that these two violent gang members will be behind bars for a long time.

The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee, with assistance from the Department of Justice’s Criminal Division. The sentencing is a testament to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, to dismantle violent gangs and bring justice to victims and their families.
