Pensacola Man Indicted for Child Pornography
PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – A former firefighter from Pensacola is facing federal charges related to a decade-long pattern of producing and possessing child pornography.
Garey A. Buscaino, 48, was indicted in federal court on charges of producing child pornography of four different minor females between 2015-2025 and possessing child pornography involving minors under the age of 12 years old.
The indictment alleges that Buscaino engaged in this heinous behavior over the course of a decade, producing and possessing child pornography that involved at least four minor victims.
If convicted, Buscaino faces up to 30 years’ imprisonment as to each minor victim for the production of child pornography and up to 20 years’ imprisonment for the possession of child pornography involving minors under the age of 12 years old.
The case is being jointly investigated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David L. Goldberg.
An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice and led by the U.S. Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Divisions Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), it marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
An arraignment for Buscaino is scheduled for July 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. before United States Magistrate Judge Zachary C. Bolitho at the United States Courthouse in Pensacola, Florida.
