HEROIN TRAFFICKING RING SMASHED IN WEST VIRGINIA

In a major blow to the opioid epidemic, four individuals have been sentenced for their roles in a heroin trafficking ring operating in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.

Gary Weldon, also known as Fatboy, age 36, of Baltimore, Maryland, was sentenced to 100 months in prison for two heroin charges on February 28, 2024. Weldon was found to be working with others to transport heroin and fentanyl from Baltimore to Hampshire County, West Virginia.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Weldon, along with James Davis Graham and Jeanette L. Henkel, were involved in a conspiracy to traffic heroin and fentanyl. The investigation, led by the Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force, resulted in the seizure of several firearms, ammunition, and thousands of dollars in cash.

James Davis Graham, also known as JD Graham, age 41, of Augusta, West Virginia, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for selling heroin and fentanyl on February 28, 2024. Graham was found to be working with others to distribute the deadly substances.

Jeanette L. Henkel, age 32, of Augusta, West Virginia, was sentenced to 41 months in prison for charges of selling heroin and fentanyl on February 28, 2024. Henkel was also found to be involved in the conspiracy to traffic heroin and fentanyl.

In a separate case, Jonathan Ross Blankenbaker, age 32, of Inwood, West Virginia, was sentenced to five years of probation for eutylone trafficking on February 28, 2024. Blankenbaker was found to have sold eutylone in Berkeley County and elsewhere.

The investigation, led by the Eastern Panhandle Drug Task Force, resulted in the seizure of several firearms, ammunition, and thousands of dollars in cash. The investigation also revealed that Blankenbaker was selling eutylone and methamphetamine from a motel room in Martinsburg.
