Muskogee, Oklahoma – In a shocking turn of events, 49-year-old Gregory Allen McAfee, a resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to one count of Failure to Register as Sex Offender, punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
The crime dates back to 2000 when McAfee was convicted of Sexual Abuse of a Minor Child in Tulsa County on September 13. As a result, he was required to register as a sex offender, a duty he failed to fulfill from February 2025 until September 9, 2025. The charge arose from a thorough investigation conducted by the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service. This collaboration highlights the importance of inter-agency cooperation in combating crime.
The Honorable Jason A. Robertson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. A U.S. District Court Judge will determine the sentence to be imposed after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
McAfee will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing. This development serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of failing to register as a sex offender.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessie K. Pippin represented the United States in this case. The case against McAfee serves as a cautionary tale for individuals who fail to comply with the law.
McAfee’s guilty plea marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice. The community can rest assured that those who fail to register as sex offenders will be held accountable for their actions.
