Brandon Couture, Child Sex Abuse, New Hampshire 2024

CONCORD – Brandon Couture, a 39-year-old Groveton resident, has been sentenced to over four years in federal prison for his sickening journey across state lines to prey on a minor. According to U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan, Couture was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Samantha Elliott to 51 months imprisonment and 7 years of supervised release.

This sentence comes after Couture pleaded guilty on May 22, 2025, to one count of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual activity. ‘This defendant’s conduct was predatory and calculated,’ Creegan said. ‘He crossed state lines with the sole purpose of abusing a child.’

U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan emphasized the severity of Couture’s crime, stating that the sentence underscores their commitment to protecting children from exploitation. ‘If you prey on minors, we will use every tool and resource at our disposal to investigate you, prosecute you, and ensure you are held accountable,’ she added.

Special Agent in Charge Ted E. Docks of the FBI’s Boston Division called Couture’s actions ‘grimly ironic’ considering he is a father himself. ‘This predator victimized a vulnerable minor, and with today’s sentence, he’ll pay a steep price for his atrocious behavior,’ Docks said.

Couture was arrested on June 13, 2024, following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation that revealed his intent to engage in criminal sexual activity with a minor victim. The Northumberland Police Department and the Essex County, Vermont Sheriff’s Department played key roles in this investigation.

The prosecution of Couture was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, visit https://www.justice.gov/psc.
