Wilmer Medardo Guerrero, Robbery, Oklahoma 2025

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a stunning turn of events, Wilmer Medardo Guerrero, 24, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been handed a 24-month sentence for the violent crime of Robbery in Indian Country. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced the sentence.

The federal investigation into Guerrero’s heist began with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Ada Police Department. On March 12, 2025, Guerrero pleaded guilty to the charge that stemmed from a daring assault on December 18, 2020.

According to law enforcement, Guerrero targeted an Ada restaurant manager during a late-night robbery attempt. The manager fought back valiantly, identifying Guerrero, a former employee of the establishment, and managed to unmask him. Despite the victim’s efforts, Guerrero made off with the restaurant’s earnings deposit.

The crime occurred within Pontotoc County, situated on the Chickasaw Nation Reservation, which falls under the Eastern District of Oklahoma’s jurisdiction. The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief Judge for the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District, oversaw the sentencing hearing.

Guerrero, who will serve his sentence without parole, is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and awaits transfer to a Bureau of Prisons facility. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael E. Robinson and Dak Cohen represented the United States during the trial.

This case underscores the commitment of federal authorities to protect Indian Country from violent crime and ensures that those who prey on innocent residents will face justice.
