BOSTON – Alex Bou, a 22-year-old resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts, has been arrested and charged with one count of attempted sex trafficking of a child. The grim details of the case emerged as Bou faced federal court today following his overnight arrest.

According to the charging documents, Bou responded to an advertisement on a site known for commercial sex acts, posing as a young woman looking for ‘flowers ready to blossom.’ His alleged conversation with an undercover agent culminated in an agreement to pay $175 for unprotected sex. The encounter took place at the arranged meeting location where Bou was apprehended.

The charges against Bou carry a severe penalty, including a minimum mandatory sentence of 10 years and up to life in prison. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes.

United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Special Agent in Charge Ted E.
