Jordi Monroe Ridgebear, a 30-year-old Tulsa man with a history of domestic violence, was sentenced to 45 months in prison for assaulting his girlfriend and coercing her to lie to law enforcement. The incident occurred in 2024, when Ridgebear and his girlfriend were drinking and arguing, leading to a 911 call. Ridgebear’s girlfriend told officers that he shoved her, put his hands around her throat, pulled her hair, and punched her. While in jail, Ridgebear contacted the victim multiple times, trying to persuade her to recant her allegations and not testify before the grand jury.
Ridgebear’s history of domestic violence is alarming, with eight arrests and convictions in 2017 and 2020 for domestic abuse and assault with a dangerous weapon. His actions demonstrate a pattern of abuse and a disregard for the law. The FBI and Tulsa Police Department investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Stacey Todd prosecuted it.
The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge Sara E. Hill, includes 45 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release. Ridgebear will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.
