Harrison County, WV man sentenced for heroin trafficking, distribution near children.
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – Jeremiah Robert Dodrill, 34, of Spelter, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for heroin trafficking, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced.
Judged to have sold heroin in October 2014 near Spelter Park, a playground located in Harrison County, West Virginia, Dodrill pled guilty in October 2015 to one count of ‘Distribution of Heroin within 1,000 feet of a Protected Location’.
Judging his wife Kasandra Faith Dodrill, 27, also of Spelter, equally guilty in the heroin trade, she allowed their residence to be used to store and distribute heroin. She was sentenced to 4 months in prison after pleading guilty in October 2015 to one count of ‘Maintaining Drug-Involved Premises – Aiding and Abetting’.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley handled the case on behalf of the government, working with the Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative.
U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided over the court proceedings.
Law enforcement officials took the heroin trade seriously, emphasizing the need for vigilance especially in areas where children are present.
‘Distribution of heroin near children is a serious offense, and we will continue to pursue those who choose to engage in it,’ said U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II.
