HOUSTON – In a gritty turn of events, 36-year-old Houston resident Nikki Saadia Porter has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, a move that sends a chilling message to drug traffickers across the city. U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei announced the charges against Porter.
Porter, who admitted to conspiring to distribute nearly 200 grams of the deadly substance from a motel room in North Harris County, is facing serious consequences for his actions. The investigation kicked off last year when authorities zeroed in on Porter as part of an operation targeting fentanyl distribution and overdoses in the area.
According to officials, Porter operated a clandestine narcotics distribution point out of a local motel room, where he dealt fentanyl directly to customers. This brazen operation underscores the escalating threat posed by fentanyl in Houston and beyond.
Sentencing is set for October 2, where U.S. District Judge Charles Eskridge will impose a potential sentence of up to 40 years in prison and a maximum fine of $5 million. Porter has been held in custody since his arrest and will remain so until the hearing.
The Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which led to Porter’s downfall, was a joint effort by the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team. OCDETF is known for its aggressive approach in identifying, disrupting, and dismantling high-level drug traffickers and criminal networks that threaten the United States.
