BEAUMONT, Texas — Eduardo Barajas-Macias, a 32-year-old Mexican national, has pleaded guilty to unlawfully returning to the United States after being deported. The guilty plea was entered before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christine L. Stetson on August 13, 2025.

This case is an integral part of Operation Take Back America, a broad initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and safeguarding communities from violent crime. The operation leverages resources from the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

The investigation was a collaborative effort between Homeland Security Investigations, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, FBI, and Angelina County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Donald Carter is handling the prosecution.
