A 44-year-old Cedar Rapids woman is heading to the slammer for 12 years after getting caught with nearly two pounds of methamphetamine in her car.
Rose Lee Beranek was driving from Arizona to Iowa in February 2024 when she was pulled over by law enforcement in Oklahoma. A search of her vehicle turned up the meth, vacuum-sealed and ready to sell.
Beranek pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine on September 24, 2025.
On top of her 144-month prison sentence, Beranek will also serve five years of supervised release once she’s out. There’s no parole in the federal system.
