Defendant Sentenced to 21+ Years for Meth Trafficking
Hattiesburg, Miss. – Isaiah Longino, 38, of Hattiesburg, was sentenced to serve 262 months in federal prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release, for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Longino, described by investigators as a distributor of methamphetamine in the Forrest County area, was involved in a methamphetamine trafficking scheme that brought him to the attention of authorities. On January 25, 2018, in Hattiesburg, Longino sold 445 grams of methamphetamine to a DEA confidential source for $5,500.
The investigation into Longino’s activities was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, which discovered his involvement in methamphetamine trafficking. Longino’s guilty plea to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine was entered on April 12, 2019.
Assistant United States Attorney Shundral H. Cole prosecuted the case against Longino. United States Attorney Mike Hurst and Special Agent in Charge Brad Byerley with the DEA announced Longino’s sentencing.
Longino was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine as part of his sentence. The 21+ year prison sentence is a significant blow to those involved in methamphetamine trafficking in the Hattiesburg area.
