James Thomas White, Child Pornography, Virginia 2022

A Virginia Beach man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for producing images of child sexual abuse.

James Thomas White, 26, knowingly communicated with a thirteen-year-old child on Twitter from December 2018 to January 2019 and repeatedly asked her to send him sexually explicit photographs and videos of herself, which she did.

White also used Twitter and other online accounts to find others with whom to trade child sexual abuse material, which he kept on his electronic devices as well as in online cloud storage accounts.

After court-authorized searches were executed at White’s residence and in electronic accounts, he was found to possess approximately 1,500 images and 450 videos of child pornography, some of which portrayed the sexual abuse of infants or toddlers.

The sentencing was announced by Jessica D. Aber, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Raymond Villanueva, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Washington, D.C. Office; and Paul Neudigate, Chief of Virginia Beach Police.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Rebecca Gantt prosecuted the case.
