Jeffery Turner, Methamphetamine Distribution, Iowa 2024

Waterloo, IA – In a shocking revelation, Jeffery Turner, a 48-year-old man from Waterloo, Iowa, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for his involvement in a massive methamphetamine distribution scheme.

A June 28, 2023, jury verdict found Turner guilty of one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and two counts of distribution of methamphetamine.

Evidence presented during the trial revealed that Turner obtained approximately twenty pounds of methamphetamine from three different sources between 2020 and 2022. These sources included a supplier in Waterloo, who in turn obtained the substance from a Mexican source, a supplier in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a supplier in California.

On two occasions in 2022, law enforcement conducted controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Turner, further solidifying his involvement in the crime.

Turner was sentenced in Cedar Rapids by United States District Court Judge C.J. Williams. He was ordered to serve 360 months in prison, followed by a five-year term of supervised release. It’s worth noting that there is no parole in the federal system.

Turner is currently being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison to serve his sentence.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Adam J. Vander Stoep, Patrick J. Reinert, and Dillan Edwards.
