Juan Manuel Nieves, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Florida 2021

A 31-year-old man from Okeechobee County, Florida, has been sentenced to 130 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation.

Juan Manuel Nieves, 31, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks in West Palm Beach following his guilty plea to distribution of five grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to the court record, Nieves sold methamphetamine on three separate occasions in 2021, including 3.5 grams on June 15, 2021, 27.86 grams on July 2, 2021, and 26.12 grams on July 14, 2021, all to buyers in Okeechobee, Florida.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael D. Porter, with Assistant U.S. Attorney William T. Zloch handling asset forfeiture. The investigation was led by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), a partnership between federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

The OCDETF program is aimed at identifying, disrupting and dismantling the highest-level drug traffickers, money launderers and other priority transnational criminal organizations that threaten the citizens of the United States.
