The Okoronkwos would direct the victims to send money from their personal accounts to the fake accounts created by the pair, which would then be transferred into their personal bank accounts or cryptocurrency exchange platforms. Some of the money would also be passed along to recipients overseas via international wire transfers.
Okoronkwo was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $337,535.00 to six victims of her crimes. After her release from prison, she will be placed on a 2-year term of supervised release.
