Timothy Wayne Tucker, Online Child Enticement, Kentucky 2016

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A grim reminder of the dangers lurking in cyberspace came to light as Timothy Wayne Tucker, a Jefferson County resident, pleaded guilty in United States District Court for attempting to entice a 15-year-old girl online.

The court heard that Tucker, using his cell phone, communicated with someone he thought was a teenager, discussing sexual activity. His sinister intentions were thwarted when law enforcement posed as the young girl and arranged a meeting.

On December 6, 2016, a dramatic traffic stop in Eastern Jefferson County resulted in Tucker’s arrest. A loaded handgun and alcohol were found in his vehicle, further indicating his willingness to take dangerous steps to meet his online prey.

The plea agreement outlines that the United States will seek a ten-year prison sentence and a twenty-year term of supervised release for Tucker. Sentencing is set before Senior Judge Thomas B. Russell on July 17, 2017.

Assistant United States Attorney Jo E. Lawless is handling the case, with Kentucky Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations conducting the investigation. This incident is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
