Orlando, FL – The grimy streets of Kissimmee are once again under the shadow of justice as Angel Manuel Gallardo Candelaria, 32, has been indicted for the heinous crime of transporting child sexual abuse material (CSAM). United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the grand jury’s return of an indictment against Gallardo Candelaria.
According to the charges, on July 8, 2025, within the Middle District of Florida and elsewhere, Gallardo Candelaria knowingly transported CSAM, in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce. Should he be convicted, this predator faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison.
The indictment also stipulates that Gallardo Candelaria is subject to the forfeiture of a cellphone used during the commission of the crime. This device will serve as a tangible testament to his despicable actions.
It’s important to note that an indictment is merely a formal charge, and Gallardo Candelaria is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The case has been meticulously investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Rachel Lyons.
This case is part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative, which was launched in May 2006 to combat the epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood brings together federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who sexually exploit children, as well as identify and rescue victims.
