A lead defendant in the Whittier-based Quiet Village (QV) street gang has pleaded guilty to federal charges, including a 2022 gun murder and attempted murders. Chase Carrillo, known as ‘Sicko,’ of Santa Fe Springs, admitted to shooting a woman to death while trying to kill a law enforcement source and attempting to murder a rival gang member in El Monte earlier that year.
Carrillo, 36, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence resulting in death. He has been in federal custody since July 2023. The plea agreement reveals his involvement with QV from 2014 until June 2023, including an assault on two corrections officers while serving time in state prison.
In January 2022, Carrillo was involved in a shootout with a rival gang member in El Monte. In March of the same year, he and a co-conspirator attempted to murder a person providing information to authorities, resulting in the death of a woman, M.F., during an exchange of gunfire.
Carrillo admitted causing at least $150,000 in losses to the El Monte shooting victim and M.F.’s next of kin. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for February 26, 2026, where he faces life in federal prison.
The investigation was conducted by various law enforcement agencies, including the FBI’s San Gabriel Valley Safe Streets Task Force, the El Monte Police Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and others. Assistant United States Attorneys Wilson Park, Kellye Ng, and Danbee Kim are prosecuting the case.
