Two Lebanon Men Charged in Massive Cocaine Bust
HARRISBURG – In a shocking turn of events, two Lebanon men have been charged with conspiracy to possess over 500 grams of cocaine, a crime that could land them 80 years behind bars.
According to court documents, Juan Delvalle-Andino, 31, and Pablo Ortiz-Calzada, 33, both of Lebanon, allegedly conspired with each other to possess and distribute the powerful stimulant.
The indictment, which was handed down on September 11, 2019, also alleges that both men had previously been convicted of serious drug felonies in the Judicial District of Puerto Rico.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspectors and the Pennsylvania State Police, and will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott R. Ford.
Indictments and Criminal Informations are only allegations, and all persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
The maximum penalty under federal law is 80 years in prison, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the Judge is also required to consider and weigh a number of factors, including the nature, circumstances and seriousness of the offense; the history and characteristics of the defendant; and the need to punish the defendant, protect the public and provide for the defendant’s educational, vocational and medical needs.
