Timothy Ray Gravley, Fentanyl Distribution, West Virginia 2024

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Brothers Timothy Ray Gravley, 41, and Jessie Joe Gravley II, 42, of Bruno, have entered guilty pleas in federal court for their roles in distributing dangerous drugs across West Virginia.

According to court documents, Timothy Ray Gravley admitted to possessing and intending to distribute over 400 grams of fentanyl. His brother, Jessie Joe Gravley II, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, along with quantities of fentanyl and heroin.

The brothers’ arrests followed a search warrant executed on October 17, 2024, at their respective homes. Timothy Ray Gravley’s residence yielded 559.69 grams of fentanyl, multiple firearms, and nearly $20,000 in cash. Jessie Joe Gravley’s home contained over 250 grams of methamphetamine, 40 grams of heroin, 54 grams of cocaine, and nearly $19,000.

In addition to the substantial drug seizures, both brothers confessed to selling drugs to informants. Timothy Ray Gravley sold fentanyl on two separate occasions before his arrest, totaling over $700. Jessie Joe Gravley engaged in similar transactions, including sales of methamphetamine and cocaine.

Sentencing for the brothers is set for November 6, 2025, where they face mandatory minimum sentences of 10 years to life in prison, supervised release, and a fine of up to $10 million. The DEA and the U.S. Route 119 Drug Task Force led the investigation that resulted in their arrests.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston praised the collaborative efforts of local law enforcement agencies. Assistant United States Attorney JC MacCallum is handling the prosecution of these cases, which are documented on the U.S. Attorney’s Office website and PACER under Case Nos. 2:25-cr-37 (Jessie Joe Gravley II) and 2:25-cr-38 (Timothy Ray Gravley).
