KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A chilling tale of a repeat offender emerges as Daryl O.D. Beck, 37, from Independence, Mo., faces federal charges for illegally possessing a firearm.
According to the Department of Justice’s United States Attorney’s Office, Beck was hit with a grand jury indictment on July 15, 2025, for being a felon in possession of a firearm and for possessing a stolen firearm. The case took an unexpected turn when the secret indictment was unsealed today after Beck’s initial appearance.
This is not Beck’s first brush with the law. The defendant has a sordid history that includes felony convictions for possession and intent to manufacture a controlled substance, as well as aggravated assault. His latest misdeed highlights the persistent challenge faced by law enforcement in combating illegal firearm possession among felons.
Under federal statutes, it is a clear-cut violation for anyone with a prior felony conviction to possess any firearm or ammunition. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to curbing criminal activity and ensuring public safety.
