A 38-year-old Mexican national has been found guilty of re-entering the United States after being previously deported.
Luis A. Gama pled guilty on June 26, 2025, to re-entry of a removed alien, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a).
According to court documents, Gama was found in Tangipahoa Parish on or around April 10, 2025. He had previously been deported to Mexico on September 10, 2019.
At the sentencing hearing scheduled for July 23, 2025, before United States District Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown, Gama faces a maximum penalty of two years of imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine, up to one year of supervised release, and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.
