A Mexican national was sentenced to time served and supervised release after pleading guilty to entering the United States illegally.
Mario Fuentes-Velasquez, 29, was found in the U.S. on September 7, 2016, after being deported on August 29, 2013.
According to court documents, Fuentes-Velasquez had not received permission from the Attorney General of the United States or the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to reenter the country.
Fuentes-Velasquez was sentenced to seven months time served, one year of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment fee.
He will be surrendered to the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for removal proceedings.
Acting U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans praised the work of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency in investigating the matter.
Assistant United States Attorney Jon Maestri was in charge of the prosecution.
