Larry Wilson, a 36-year-old Memphis man, has been sentenced to 87 months in prison for his role in a RICO conspiracy involving robbery and methamphetamine distribution with the Young Mob gang. Wilson, also known as ‘L’, was part of a pattern of racketeering activity that included attempting to commit and committing a robbery and distributing methamphetamine in Memphis, Tennessee. The crimes took place between March and June 2024, with Wilson and other Young Mob members conspiring to distribute large quantities of controlled substances, including fentanyl and methamphetamine.
On June 11, 2024, Wilson and other Young Mob members, including Braxton Beck, attempted to rob a customer at the Therapeutic Ink tattoo shop in Memphis. However, investigators from the Memphis Police Department (MPD) were able to prevent the robbery attempt. The next day, Wilson, Beck, and others hatched a second robbery plot, which was also initially thwarted by MPD units. However, the group returned to the tattoo shop after the police left and robbed three customers at gunpoint.
Wilson’s sentence is the result of a thorough investigation by law enforcement, which included monitoring wire and electronic communications between Wilson and other Young Mob members. The intercepted communications revealed a pattern of racketeering activity, including conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and commit acts of violence.
